Subscribing
to the Expertise Marketplace Blog with RSS
Most
people "subscribe" to blogs with something called RSS, which
stands for Really Simple Syndication.
We'll
provide instructions for subscribing with a free service called Bloglines;
there are many other blog subscription services available, which you are
welcome to explore. Bloglines lets you see when all your favorite blogs
have been updated.
Subscribing
with Bloglines
- Create an account at www.bloglines.com
and log in.
- Click the tab called My Feeds.
- Click Add.
- A form will appear on the right.
- In the field "Blog or Feed URL" copy and paste the following
address: http://expertisemarketing.typepad.com/marketplace/index.rdf
- Click Subscribe.
- Another form will pop up, which allows you to organize blog subscriptions
into categories. To make it simple, just click Subscribe at the bottom.
- The Expertise Marketplace blog will now show up on the left as one
of the blogs to which you are subscribed.
- Bookmark your Bloglines page. We find that it's especially convenient
to put it in your Web browser's bookmarks toolbar folder so it's always
easy to find.
- Everytime you visit your Bloglines page, blogs with new entries will
show up in bold. You can read the posts from within Bloglines or click
through to reach the blog.
Note:
When you see other blogs you'd like to add to your Bloglines account,
look on the blog for the link to its RSS feed. This is often text that
says "syndicate this site" or an orange graphic saying "XML."
Right-click to Copy Link Location, then paste it into the Add form on
Bloglines.
